Hi !!!

My close friend wedding is just around the corner and I m on an urge to tone down a little and be in shape. Even for my new year resolution I want to lose those extra pounds which took over last year. Coming back to shape is a task, so to make myself feel better I give myself a treat of healthy salads, which are not only yummy but easy to make as well. pomegranate are very high source of iron its good for skin as well and additional veggies in it makes it quite filling that it can be eaten instead of lunch and dinner.So for the Tangy sweet corn and pomegranate salad Recipe:

  • Prep time : 10 Mintz
  • Cook time : 5 Mintz
  • Total time : 15 Mintz

  • 1 Cup boiled Sweet corn kernels.
  • 1 whole pomegranate arils.
  • 1 medium size onion finely chopped.
  • 1 cucumber finely chopped.
  • 1 medium tomato finely chopped.
  • 4-5 mint leaves chopped.
  • 4-5 olives optional.
  • 1 whole lemon juice.
  • 1 tsp chili powder / chat masala.
  • Salt to taste.
  • 1 tbsp honey.
  • 1/2 tsp ginger and garlic powder.


  1. Boil the sweet corn kernels in water. Add some salt in it while boiling.Once its boiled drain the water and keep the sweet corn aside.
  2. mix honey,lemon,chat masala,salt,ginger garlic powder nicely.
  3. In a bowl ad sweet corn kernel and all the other veggies including olives and mint leaves.
  4. Add the lemon honey mixture to the veggies and give a good toss.
  5. refrigerate it and serve.

Note :

  • I don’t eat spicy so instead of chilly powder I always use chat masala you can add both or either of one as per you preference.

As of now I am on a healthy diet not to lose weight but to be little healtier.So I prefer more of fruits and salad in my diet.I love eating salads of different kind.Salad can be prepared in an end number of ways with different type of dressing, it is easier to make and it is hassle free.

One of my favourite recipe of salad is SWEET AND SOUR CHICK PEA SALAD .(i.e Chana chat salad).This is my version of Chana chat in a healthy way. Chana chat is an indian dish made of chick peas, actually it is an appetizer but i made a healthy version of it,and that can be eaten as a salad. Its is very filling so I skip my meal and have only this salad .So for the recipe I have given details below:Photo 16-01-18, 1 31 01 PM


  • Prep time: 15 Mintz
  • Cook time: 20 Mintz
  • Total time: 30 to 40 Mintz


  • 2 cups Chick peas (kabuli Chana).
  • 1 medium size onion finely chopped.
  • 1 medium size boiled potato finely chopped.
  • 1 cup pomegranate.
  • 1 handful peanuts.
  • 1 handful walnut.
  • Pinch of chilli powder or chat masala.
  • salt to taste (I had put pink salt).
  • coriander and mint leaves finely chopped
  • ginger garlic powder (if preferred minced ginger and garlic).
  • 2 tbsp yoghurt.
  • 1 tbsp tamarind paste.
  • lemon as per required.


  1. Soak the Chick peas overnight for about 8 hours. Drain the water and boil the Chick peas till they are done. You can even cook it in the pressure cooker for about 2 whistle.
  2. Drain all the remaining water from the Chick peas.Add all the above ingredients to it.
  3. Mix it well and put it in the refrigerator for a while.


  • You can add salt instead of Pink salt.
  • You can add minced ginger garlic instead of powder.I personally don’t like the strong raw flavour of it,so used powder instead.
  • I don’t prefer too spicy so instead of chilly powder I added chat masala .You can add chilly powder as per taste.
  • I had garnished it with sev .You can directly dig in 😛

Oats Khichdi – Twist to a healthy meal.

Oats is a nutritious and a healthy option if you are on diet or particular about eating healthy.Oats is preferably an option for breakfast but this recipe is good as a meal for luch or dinner.

Khichdi is an Indian dish made with rice and different dals (lentils) . It can be made in different styles suited as your taste. Instead of rice I opted for a healthy option an choose Oats . So for the recipe all the detail are given below.

Oat Recipe:

  • Prep Time : 10 mintz
  • Cook Time : 20 mintz
  • Total Time: 30 mintz


  • 1 1/2 cup soaked Yellow toor dal (split pigeon peas)
  • 1 cup oats
  • 1/2 tsp jeera
  • 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 cup water
  • salt to taste
  • 1tbsp Olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp chilly powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 coriander powder
  • 4-5 curry leaves


  1. Soak the toor dal for about  an hour. Meanwhile chop one medium size onion finely.
  2. In a cooker put olive oil,once the oil is hot add some jeera (cumin seed) .
  3. Add chopped onions and curry leaves.
  4. Once the colour of the onion starts becoming pink add ginger garlic paste to it.
  5. mix it well till the strong aroma of ginger garlic is gone .
  6. Add all the remaining masala into it .( Note : I dont prefer spicy so the masala given above is as per my taste.You can add on as per your taste)
  7. Once u have added all the masalas .Put in the toor dal without any water into the cooker. Fry the dal for awhile, and then add the oats to it.
  8. Add on 2 cup of water and put the lid of the cooker on.
  9. After 2 whilst of the pressure cooker ,turn off the gas.
  10. You can add coriander leaves for garsnishing.
  11. Serve it hot with Cucumber Raita.

Last weekend I had been to this amazing and the happiest flea market in Mumbai, The Lil Flea at Jio
garden Bandra Bkc. It was such a heartwarming experience and massive festival of shopping, food and
music. As it’s again on 8th and 9th of April 2017, I thought of visiting there again. That place gave me a
happy feeling and that made me share my thoughts here.

Well said enough let me share with you guys five reasons why you should definitely visit this place 

  • Amazing Ambiance: This Place is divinely beautiful. Everything about this place was so different.
    The moment you step in, you can see amazing décor. Every corner has been beautifully set up,
    the fairy lights, the delicate tents; the sayings on different corners will surely brighten up the
    mood. The entrance itself is very promising that there is more to welcome you inside. The place
    is filled with joy and being there will surely make you feel for a moment that you are not in
  •  Shopping: they have some 250 pop up shops from all over the country. From amazing dream
    catchers, to home décor, clothing, foot wear, and many more stuffs to shop. Some popup shops
    had quirky stuff that will surely make you a shopping spree. There is even a place for kids to
    play around so drop on your kids there while you go shopping spree. And even if not planning
    to buy, a window shopping will be a kind of therapy to the eyes… pretty stuffs do change
  •  Mouth drooling food: They have a separate food corner and that part you surely don’t want to
    miss when you go there. There are many options to choose from Indian to Italian to Mexican
    and the mouthwatering desert. As I was running short of time and I had these stuffed kulcha
    there I couldn’t try anything more but this time when I go there ,I will make sure I don’t miss
    out on anything.  
  •  Music: There is always a live band playing and such a pleasure to sit and relax. A perfect way to
    spend your weekend. There are 12 live bands going to perform this weekend. After a long week
    of work and stress this will surely unwind.
  • Capture a picture : Now this is something that depends on person to person but if you are a
    freak like me when it comes to clicking picture, you should definitely go there coz on every
    corner you will surely find something to click a picture with.
