SWEET AND SOUR CHICKPEA SALAD..

As of now I am on a healthy diet not to lose weight but to be little healtier.So I prefer more of fruits and salad in my diet.I love eating salads of different kind.Salad can be prepared in an end number of ways with different type of dressing, it is easier to make and it is hassle free.

One of my favourite recipe of salad is SWEET AND SOUR CHICK PEA SALAD .(i.e Chana chat salad).This is my version of Chana chat in a healthy way. Chana chat is an indian dish made of chick peas, actually it is an appetizer but i made a healthy version of it,and that can be eaten as a salad. Its is very filling so I skip my meal and have only this salad .So for the recipe I have given details below:Photo 16-01-18, 1 31 01 PM

SWEET AND SOUR CHICK PEA SALAD:

  • Prep time: 15 Mintz
  • Cook time: 20 Mintz
  • Total time: 30 to 40 Mintz

INGREDIENTS :

  • 2 cups Chick peas (kabuli Chana).
  • 1 medium size onion finely chopped.
  • 1 medium size boiled potato finely chopped.
  • 1 cup pomegranate.
  • 1 handful peanuts.
  • 1 handful walnut.
  • Pinch of chilli powder or chat masala.
  • salt to taste (I had put pink salt).
  • coriander and mint leaves finely chopped
  • ginger garlic powder (if preferred minced ginger and garlic).
  • 2 tbsp yoghurt.
  • 1 tbsp tamarind paste.
  • lemon as per required.

RECIPE :

  1. Soak the Chick peas overnight for about 8 hours. Drain the water and boil the Chick peas till they are done. You can even cook it in the pressure cooker for about 2 whistle.
  2. Drain all the remaining water from the Chick peas.Add all the above ingredients to it.
  3. Mix it well and put it in the refrigerator for a while.

NOTE:

  • You can add salt instead of Pink salt.
  • You can add minced ginger garlic instead of powder.I personally don’t like the strong raw flavour of it,so used powder instead.
  • I don’t prefer too spicy so instead of chilly powder I added chat masala .You can add chilly powder as per taste.
  • I had garnished it with sev .You can directly dig in 😛

PRODUCT REVIEW: KAMA AYURVEDA BRINGADI INTENSIVE HAIR TREATMENT OIL

This oil is not new in the market so for the review I am a bit late. But as I am using this oil for past two years now I can officially give a true product review…

I had some severe hair infection 2 years back which led to greasy hair even after hair wash. My scalp use to get too oily, there was excessive hairfall and no hair growth. Around my crown area a lump of hair use to get sticky and get entangled . Going through all this I was frustrated and irritated. I had used all the possible hair oil and changed hell lot of shampoo’s but nothing worked.People use to comment on my hair on how bad they look.My hair was in an unmanageable state where I had decided to go bald. But before i take an extreme step I came across this Oil while browsing at an beauty app called Nykaa @mynykaa . So i thought of purchasing it and since  than have never stopped using it.

Since the time I bought this Oil I use this before every hair wash. I have an habit of appling hair oil overnight , so i do same for this hair oil as well. But the product claims that it will show effect even if you apply half an hour before hair wash. My hair infection was gone within a week of application i.e thrice in a week . the quality of my hair has improved alot.I had shoulder lenght hair 2 years back and now it comes below my waist even after getting trimmed regularly.My hair feels thicker now and better in quality. For the grey hair I cannot claim that it stopped as i already had little grey hair when i started using it ,hopefully it will stop any new hair to turn grey (finger crossed).By far this KAMA AYURVEDA BRINGADI OIL has been my favourite. I will never stop using this hair oil for sure.

I still use it before every hair wash and will continue to do so .The bottle of 250 ml last me for around 1.5 month which cost 1050/- rs and the smaller bottle of 100 ml which last for 20 days plus cost for 575/- .You can purchase the smaller bottle to give it a try.

PROS:

  • Does help in reducing the hairfall.
  • Surely PREVENTS AND REPAIR HAIR DAMAGE.
  • Makes hair soft and manageable.
  • Prevent Dandruff.

CONS:

  • Expensive.
  • It has a strong herbal smell to it which can get unbareable by many but I guess its the herbs that works right so that can be avoidable.

I will surely repurchase this oil, I am using my fifth bottle now and about to open my new bottle.I will surely recommend  KAMA AYURVEDA BRINGADI INTENSIVE HAIR TREATMENT to all of those who has problem with hairfall ,to those who have some hair infection alike mine and people with dandruff. I have already recommended to many of my friends and family who has dandruff and excessive hair fall and it has helped them as well.

Oats Khichdi – Twist to a healthy meal.

Oats is a nutritious and a healthy option if you are on diet or particular about eating healthy.Oats is preferably an option for breakfast but this recipe is good as a meal for luch or dinner.

Khichdi is an Indian dish made with rice and different dals (lentils) . It can be made in different styles suited as your taste. Instead of rice I opted for a healthy option an choose Oats . So for the recipe all the detail are given below.

Oat Recipe:

  • Prep Time : 10 mintz
  • Cook Time : 20 mintz
  • Total Time: 30 mintz

INGREDIENTS :

  • 1 1/2 cup soaked Yellow toor dal (split pigeon peas)
  • 1 cup oats
  • 1/2 tsp jeera
  • 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 cup water
  • salt to taste
  • 1tbsp Olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp chilly powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 coriander powder
  • 4-5 curry leaves

RECIPE :

  1. Soak the toor dal for about  an hour. Meanwhile chop one medium size onion finely.
  2. In a cooker put olive oil,once the oil is hot add some jeera (cumin seed) .
  3. Add chopped onions and curry leaves.
  4. Once the colour of the onion starts becoming pink add ginger garlic paste to it.
  5. mix it well till the strong aroma of ginger garlic is gone .
  6. Add all the remaining masala into it .( Note : I dont prefer spicy so the masala given above is as per my taste.You can add on as per your taste)
  7. Once u have added all the masalas .Put in the toor dal without any water into the cooker. Fry the dal for awhile, and then add the oats to it.
  8. Add on 2 cup of water and put the lid of the cooker on.
  9. After 2 whilst of the pressure cooker ,turn off the gas.
  10. You can add coriander leaves for garsnishing.
  11. Serve it hot with Cucumber Raita.
